Enjoy a ‘behind the scenes’ video and interview with Arlene McIntyre, Kevin Kelly of Hospitality Ireland and Ivan King General Manager of Luttrellstown Castle, as they discuss Ventura’s redesign and hotel refurbishment of one of Dublin’s oldest castles.

This ivy-clad, 15th century castle is set majestically on acres of manicured lawns and forest. All the Ventura stylistic updates needed to complement the stately architecture and trove of antiques within this impressive property. In this high profile hotel refurbishment, we introduced an elegant, classic palette of tones to the bedrooms and streamlined lighting and accessories throughout.

While a castle may inspire a sense of jaw-dropping-wonder in most people, for an interiors designer the sheer awe is incalculable. To plan out the rooms of a one-time fortress, to find pieces worthy of the centuries-old antiques, to carefully gild and polish old-world luxury is, quite simply, every designer’s dream. And really, it has been a dream for us to work on Luttrellstown Castle, gently coaxing this gothic behemoth into the 21st Century. During our first phase of renovations, we gave six bedrooms a once over with our signature style. The second phase was more far-ranging and involved sprucing up some of the ornate reception rooms.
